1. Scope & who can order
We sell and deliver to consumers and businesses in the European Union and the United Kingdom. All prices are in euro (EUR) and, for EU and UK consignments up to £135, include applicable VAT. You must be at least 18 years old (or have a guardian’s permission) to place an order. You may order as a guest or with a customer account.
2. Products
We curate products from independent European and international brands. Product images are illustrative; minor variations in colour and finish — particularly with handmade items and natural materials such as wood, leather and linen — are characteristic of the craft and do not constitute defects.
3. Ordering & contract formation
Displaying products in the Store is an invitation to treat, not a binding offer. Your order constitutes an offer to purchase. A contract of sale is formed only when we send you a dispatch confirmation for the ordered items (an order acknowledgement email alone does not constitute acceptance). We may decline or cancel an order, in whole or in part, before dispatch where:
- a product is unavailable or discontinued by the brand or our fulfilment partner;
- a manifest error in price or product description has occurred (where the listed price is obviously incorrect relative to the product’s value, no contract is formed even after dispatch confirmation);
- we are unable to verify payment, or we reasonably suspect fraud, abuse or resale at scale;
- the delivery address is outside our delivery area or cannot be reliably served;
- circumstances beyond our reasonable control (see clause 11) prevent fulfilment.
If we cancel an order that you have already paid, we will refund the full amount received for the cancelled items, using your original payment method, without undue delay and at the latest within 14 days. Refund of the amounts paid is your sole remedy for a cancelled order, without prejudice to your statutory rights.
4. Prices & payment
Prices shown at checkout are final and include VAT where applicable. VAT is charged at the rate of your delivery country, as required by EU distance-selling (OSS) rules. We accept:
- Bank transfer / SEPA — your order is reserved and dispatched once payment clears (typically 1–2 business days);
- PayPal;
- Card payment via Stripe (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay).
We never store your full card details; payments are processed by PCI-DSS-certified providers.
5. Delivery
We dispatch from European warehouses. Orders placed before 23:59 (EET) are normally handed to the carrier the next business day; made-to-order items take longer, as indicated on the product page. Typical transit times are 3–8 business days in the EU and 4–10 business days in the UK. Delivery times are estimates, not guarantees; they are not of the essence of the contract. Where an order contains items from multiple brands, items may arrive in separate parcels at no extra cost to you. See Shipping & Delivery for rates per country.
United Kingdom: for consignments up to £135 we charge UK VAT at checkout. For consignments above £135, import VAT and any customs duties are payable by you and are collected by the carrier before delivery.
6. Right of withdrawal (14 days) & our 30-day returns
As a consumer in the EU or UK you may withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving a reason. On top of that, Sumeos offers a voluntary 30-day return period from delivery. Full conditions, exclusions and the withdrawal procedure are in our Returns & Refunds policy, which forms part of these Terms. Statutory exclusions apply (e.g. personalised items; sealed hygiene products and cosmetics once unsealed; perishables).
7. Warranty & statutory conformity
EU consumers enjoy a two-year legal guarantee of conformity; UK consumers enjoy the protections of the Consumer Rights Act 2015. In addition, every product (except cosmetics, edible items and candles) carries our 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects. Details and the claims procedure are in our Warranty policy.
8. Customer accounts
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential. We may suspend or close accounts used in breach of these Terms, for fraudulent activity, or for abusive conduct towards our staff.
9. Intellectual property
All content of the Store — the Sumeos name and mark, texts, photography, design and code — is protected by intellectual property rights and may not be reproduced without our written consent.
10. Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory consumer rights. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss (including loss of profit), and our aggregate liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for delays or failures of carriers beyond the remedies available under law, nor for damage caused by use contrary to product instructions.
11. Force majeure
We are not in breach of contract where performance is prevented or delayed by events beyond our reasonable control — including natural disasters, war, sanctions, strikes, pandemic measures, power or network failures, or carrier and supplier disruptions. Where such an event continues for more than 30 days, either party may cancel the affected order with a full refund of amounts paid.
12. Complaints & dispute resolution
Please contact us first at [email protected] — we aim to resolve every issue within 15 days. If you are an EU consumer and we cannot reach agreement, you may turn to your national consumer ADR body. In Estonia this is the Consumer Disputes Committee (Tarbijavaidluste komisjon, ttja.ee); cross-border EU complaints are assisted free of charge by the European Consumer Centres Network (ECC-Net). UK consumers may also contact Citizens Advice. (Note: the EU’s former central ODR platform was discontinued in July 2025; national ADR routes above apply.)
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Estonia. If you are a consumer, you additionally enjoy the protection of the mandatory consumer-law provisions of the country where you habitually reside, and you may bring proceedings in your home courts.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time; the version published at the time of your order applies to that order.
